Improvements to Cross-platform Content Sharing

Notes are a great way of recording and sharing personal experiences with specific teaching techniques. Today’s update makes it possible to embed external resources within notes, giving you the opportunity to provide additional context such as links to online courses or videos of a technique being used in the classroom.

To embed external content simply paste a full URL onto a new line within your note text. The app will generate a preview (or full embed) of any links you’ve included as soon as you hit save.

If you’re linking to private content that viewers will need to log in to access, e.g. a document hosted on your organisation’s SharePoint site, the app may be unable to retrieve a preview, but viewers will still be able to click on the link to view the content in a separate browser tab.

That’s not all though – support for embedded content is also now available within nudges, notices and comments.

In addition, we’ve made it easier to share your notes outside of the HOW2 app. Just click the ​‘copy link’ button beneath any note to copy its direct URL to your clipboard:

Note visibility settings still apply, so you’ll be able to send a note with organisation visibility to all of your colleagues, but a shared note link will only be viewable by the colleagues it was originally shared with.

We hope these additions will support both teachers and coaching staff in integrating HOW2s with their organisations’ wider CPD strategies and online infrastructure.
