Gain a Complete Picture of Professional Development with CPD Journals
Our latest feature update makes it easy for teachers and organisations to track external CPD activities directly within the HOW2 Platform.

Track External CPD with Ease
Whether you’ve attended a workshop, completed a certification, or taken part in a webinar, the HOW2 CPD Journal makes it simple to log your learning. Activities are categorised for clarity, and each entry can include a duration — making it easier than ever to keep tabs on your total CPD hours.

Reflect and Grow
Each journal entry also provides space to set objectives and capture personal reflections, supporting a more meaningful, reflective CPD process. You can look back on what you learned, why it mattered, and how it’s shaping your practice going forward.
Built-In Insights for Leaders
For admin users, the HOW2 CPD Journal opens up new possibilities. You can now view colleagues’ journal entries and see how external CPD fits into broader organisational goals. Usage reports now include CPD logging statistics, giving you a fuller picture of CPD engagement across your team.
Built for the Bigger Picture
With Ofsted’s proposed updates to the Education Inspection Framework placing a stronger emphasis on the quality and impact of professional development, our new CPD Journal feature couldn’t come at a better time. The revised framework is likely to place greater scrutiny not only on how teaching and training are developed, but also on how providers evaluate and support staff growth.
By enabling educators to log and reflect on external CPD activities, the HOW2 Platform now offers a complete, trackable view of professional learning, helping organisations align with Ofsted’s priorities and show a clear commitment to staff development.
Commenting on the new CPD Journal feature, soon to be rolled out as part of the Royal Navy’s existing use of the HOW2 Platform, Simon Scott-Munden, Education and Training Organisation (ETO) Manager for Team Fisher at HMS Collingwood, said: “The HOW2 CPD log empowers our educators to unite their professional growth in one streamlined system, offering consistency, clarity, and collaboration, through a shared format and language.”
HOW2 has been working in partnership with Team Fisher, the Capita-led consortium responsible for transforming trainer delivery across 14 of the Royal Navy’s training establishments. As a trusted CPD partner, HOW2 has helped drive a shift toward a more developmental, adaptive, student-centric professional development model, supported by a shared professional language that underpins consistent practice across the Navy training sites.
The CPD log was developed in response to a need identified across the Team Fisher training cadre to record all CPD activity in one place. By centralising CPD tracking within the HOW2 Platform, ETO Managers are now better able to monitor, evaluate, and support professional learning at scale.
The HOW2 CPD log empowers our educators across Team Fisher to unite their professional growth in one streamlined system, offering consistency, clarity, and collaboration, through a shared format and language.
