HOW2 Platform Adds Pedagogical Know-How to MKC Training's Portfolio of Expertise

TeachingHOW2s today announced its partnership with MKC Training Ltd, a leading training design, delivery and assessment consultancy that provides a broad range of professional development services from initial training needs analysis right through to the certification of competent professionals.

The HOW2 web app will support MCK Training’s entire body of instructors — all skilled practitioners, accredited, certified and authorised by the relevant training body and/or institution — and provide on demand access to over 160 visual guides to evidence-based teaching techniques, building on and developing MKC Training’s existing areas of specialist knowledge and expertise.

A wholly owned subsidiary of MidKent College, MKC Training supports all aspects of training design and delivery to Armed Forces personnel, as part of the highly successful Public-Private Partnership that Holdfast Training Services Ltd have with the Ministry of Defence for the provision of training, training support services and infrastructure for the Royal School of Military Engineering Group.

Their instructors are all skilled practitioners, who bring training to life with stories from their own experience to achieve excellence in construction, project management, engineering, health and safety and IT service management.

MKC offers face-to-face classroom courses and a range of e‑learning and blended learning options. Class sizes are designed so that each delegate can receive individual support, encouraging everyone to achieve their potential and maximise every learning opportunity.

The HOW2 instructional coaching platform provides ²⁴⁄₇ access to step-by-step visual guides to evidence-based teaching techniques. The precise, easy-to-navigate nature of the HOW2 guides makes learning and adapting the techniques quick and easy, whether it’s for the classroom, lab or workspace.

Designed to improve learning through better teaching, the HOW2 app supports distributed learning environments and encourages peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Subscribers are given access to a private space to learn on their own but can also access a range of social learning tools that promote and facilitate shared, community-driven learning.

Leveraging the skills and expertise typically delivered by an instructional coach, the HOW2 coaching app gives faculty managers the tools and pedagogical resources they need to support teachers in meeting the ever-changing demands of teaching and student learning. Based in the UK and the US, the HOW2 app is used by Further Education and Higher Education colleges, schools, independent training providers and public organisations.
