Outrunning HS2; HOW2s Delivers FE’s First High-Speed, Peer-to-Peer Support Service
TeachingHOW2s sees first colleges take advantage of its new high-speed, interorganisational, collaborative learning network, transforming how busy teachers in London and Manchester connect, learn and support each other.
How long would it typically take for a teacher looking for peer support on an aspect of pedagogy, to find and start collaborating with a colleague, who they may not have met?
Teachers at Barnet and Southgate College in London, and Hopwood Hall College in Manchester are connecting in seconds; the first colleges to take advantage of the HOW2 Platform’s new interorganisational, high-speed, peer-to-peer support capability.
Today’s announcement follows major updates to the HOW2 Collaborative Learning Platform that went live earlier this year that will give teachers already subscribing to the platform, the ability to quickly and conveniently collaborate and learn with their peers beyond the boundaries of their own organisation — or network of organisations.
Building confidence and ability in Maths and English was one of the key drivers behind the creation of TeachingHOW2s’ first inter-college professional learning network.
About TeachingHOW2s
Since 2011 TeachingHOW2s has partnered with more than 200 FE colleges and post-16 training providers in the UK and overseas to overcome barriers to teaching, learning and assessment. Its best-in-class social learning platform delivers evidence-based, personalised support for unlimited numbers of teachers on demand, and a collaborative, inter organisational approach to pedagogical learning and development.
Available anytime, from any device, the HOW2 visual guides to Evidence Based Teaching (EBT) techniques come in a variety of visual formats, including info-graphics, click-through presentation screens and e‑books. The precise, step-by-step, easy-to-navigate nature of the guides makes learning and adapting the techniques quick and easy whether it’s for the classroom, lab or workspace.
Leveraging the skills and expertise typically delivered by an instructional coach, the HOW2 Platform gives busy teachers access to a private space to learn and an interpersonal space, with a range of collaborative learning features that facilitate the sharing of best practices across entire teaching institutions or networks of institutions.
The HOW2 Platform is used by Further Education and Higher Education colleges, schools, independent training providers and public organisations. Visit TeachingHOW2s to learn more.
