TeachingHOW2s today announced its partnership with Capita — a consulting, transformation and digital services business that delivers innovative solutions to transform and simplify the connections between businesses and customers, governments and citizens.
The announcement follows Capita’s 12 year agreement made in December 2020 with the Royal Navy, to transform and modernise Navy training across 16 sites in the UK.
As part of Capita’s transformation agenda to make training more flexible and efficient, the HOW2 Instructional Coaching Platform will deliver innovative, personalised and collaborative pedagogical support to Navy personnel and training staff — equipping them with the skills and expertise needed to deal better with the challenges of the future.
Houlihan added; “We’re incredibly lucky to have such a diverse workforce that combines up to date operational experience in our military staff with sustained pedagogical exploration from our civilian staff. The HOW2s have something for everyone meaning a common language can be used and combined with the collaborative features of the platform.”
TeachingHOW2s CEO, Ian Harris commented; “We’re proud to be working with an industry leader that’s blazing a trail in learning and development and committed to engendering cultures of collaborative learning. We are closely aligned with Capita in our approach to encouraging and enabling organisations to embrace a culture of learning and to continually develop their professional and pedagogical expertise.”
Capita is lead partner in a consortium, known as Team Fisher, which includes Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu, the University of Lincoln and several smaller British suppliers.
Capita operates in the UK, Europe, India and South Africa – and across 3 divisions: Capita Public Service, Capita Experience, Capita Portfolio
Capita Public Service provides consultancy, applied digital transformation and Business Process as a Service to improve the productivity of government operations and the citizen experience of public services. The division is focused around five verticals in Government where it has particular expertise and scale: Education & Learning; Local Public Services; Health & Welfare; Defence, Security & Fire; and Central Government, Justice & Transport.
The HOW2 instructional coaching platform provides 24⁄7 access to step-by-step visual guides to evidence-based teaching techniques. The precise, easy-to-navigate nature of the HOW2 guides makes learning and adapting the techniques quick and easy, whether it’s for the classroom, lab or workspace.
Designed to improve learning through better teaching, the HOW2 app supports distributed learning environments and encourages peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Subscribers are given access to a private space to learn on their own but can also access a range of social learning tools that promote and facilitate shared, community-driven learning.
Leveraging the skills and expertise typically delivered by an instructional coach, the HOW2 coaching app gives faculty managers the tools and pedagogical resources they need to support teachers in meeting the ever-changing demands of teaching and student learning. Headquartered in the UK, the HOW2 app is used by Further Education and Higher Education colleges, schools, independent training providers and public organisations.
