TeachingHOW2s Partners with Real Skills Training to Deliver 24/7 Evidence-based Pedagogical Support

TeachingHOW2s today announced its partnership with Real Skills Training Ltd, a government funded and commercial training provider specialising in Early Years, Hair and Beauty and Business Services apprenticeships.

The HOW2 web app will allow the leading training provider to adopt a whole organisation, collaborative approach to providing high-quality, evidence-based pedagogical support for its entire body of teaching staff.

As well as giving Real Skills’ trainers the ability to explore and experiment with teaching tools and techniques whenever is convenient for them, the app will provide access to a range of social learning tools that promote and facilitate shared, community-driven learning.

Real Skills’ decision to implement the HOW2 app follows recent changes outlined by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education which call for a focus on guided, ​‘coaching-led’ assessment and feedback, embedding and recalling knowledge and literacy and numeracy.

Real Skills’ decision to implement the HOW2 app also followed a recent Oftsted inspection which identified gaps in the organisation’s overall approach to pedagogy.

The HOW2 instructional coaching platform provides ²⁴⁄₇ access to step-by-step visual guides to evidence-based teaching techniques. The precise, easy-to-navigate nature of the HOW2 guides makes learning and adapting the techniques quick and easy, whether it’s for the classroom, lab or workspace.

Designed to improve learning through better teaching, the HOW2 app supports distributed learning environments and encourages peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Subscribers are given access to a private space to learn on their own but can also access a range of social learning tools that promote and facilitate shared, community-driven learning.

Leveraging the skills and expertise typically delivered by an instructional coach, the How2 coaching app gives faculty managers the tools and pedagogical resources they need to support teachers in meeting the ever-changing demands of teaching and student learning. Headquartered in the UK, the HOW2 app is used by Further Education and Higher Education colleges, schools, independent training providers and public organisations.
