Eastern WV Community College Partners with HOW2s
US college embraces HOW2 app to embed faculty-wide pedagogical learning.

TeachingHOW2s has announced a new partnership with Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College to deliver its HOW2 Instructional Coaching Platform, an organization-wide solution for improving pedagogy and teaching and learning.
The HOW2 app will allow Eastern College to extend 24⁄7 evidence-based, instructional coaching expertise and support to full-time and adjunct faculty and encourage both self-directed and cross-disciplinary, collaborative learning. The app’s social learning features will also enable the creation of faculty learning communities, facilitating the sharing of best practices and as a result, improved student outcomes.
What I like about the HOW2 app is that it is embedding an entire system of pedagogical learning and professional development for all faculty. It’s systemic and spans subject areas, faculty departments and organizations, even other countries. It’s cross platform.

To support the implementation of over 160 teaching techniques available on the HOW2 app, faculty developers at Eastern are set to participate in the HOW2 Instructional Coaching Program, a four day program which uses a blended delivery approach combined with self-study. Level 5 accredited with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the course focuses on developing participants’ coaching expertise, helping them to support faculty in applying the HOW2 techniques across academic, vocational, and career subjects.
Participants are trained to lead and implement an organization-wide approach to improving instruction and pedagogy and to tie this into the institution’s overall mission and broader teaching and learning goals.
