Henley College: Cathy Davis and Catherine Dickinson

Lecturers in Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing, Cathy Davis and Catherine Dickinson, use HOW2s to help establish good classroom routines.

HOW2s help you think a bit more deeply about your teaching, and remind you to try different approaches.

Cathy and Catherine both answered Routines when I asked them which of the HOW2s they used most. In an classroom context, increasing the time spent learning is crucial. And that depends, to a large degree, on mastering the logistics and management of routines.

The HOW2 set on Behaviour: Establishing Routines covers entry, desk work, transitions between activities, exit routines and, importantly, how to practise them so they become smooth habits.
